Lighthouse Treatment Center Hosts Art Night for its Alumni

Anaheim, California - The Lighthouse Treatment Center, a drug and alcohol treatment facility in Anaheim, California, hosted an Art Night as a part of its Lighthouse Alumni Program. The guests gathered at the Sounds of Color Studio in Santa Ana to explore a new form of recovery together.

Sara Alba, Alumni Coordinator at Lighthouse Treatment, said that every recovery journey is unique and that activities like these help their alumni to try new things while in recovery.

Alba stated, “Exploring new hobbies and forms of stress relief continue to give our alumni tools to use in their recovery. By integrating these activities into our recovery program, our alumni have the opportunity to explore their creativity and express themselves in sobriety.”

The Art Night allowed Lighthouse Treatment Center alumni to create unique art pieces together. They used items like crushed glass, paint, and more to bring their artwork to life. The activity also gave the alumni a chance to get to know each other and express themselves in recovery, something that Todd W., an alumnus of the program, was especially grateful for.

“I am not a very artistic person but I am so grateful that the Lighthouse gives us the opportunity to try new things. I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed the experience and learned something I can do to help my recovery in a new way,” said Todd.

Josh C, another attendee of the Art Night, said, “This was a great experience. We had an amazing instructor and I found the project to be calming. The Lighthouse always helps me to explore new things and I look forward to our next opportunity to get together.”

The Lighthouse Treatment Center continues to host these kinds of events to help its alumni stay connected, engaged, and productive in recovery.
