Lighthouse Treatment Center Hosts Alumni at the OC Fair

Anaheim, California - The Lighthouse Treatment Center, a drug and alcohol treatment facility in Anaheim, California, sponsored a day at the OC Fair for members of the Lighthouse Alumni Program. Sixty-five alumni attended the event on August 6, 2022, enjoying food, entertainment, rides, and games while spending time with other alumni in recovery.

Sara Alba, Alumni Coordinator for the Lighthouse, said that taking part in events like this helps to build confidence in the tools alumni have developed to live sober.

"We wanted our alumni to have a fun, safe day out and create new memories in sobriety," Alba said. "Being around others who are also in recovery is a great way to stay motivated and realize that you can have fun without drugs or alcohol."

Eddie C., a Lighthouse Alumni Program member, said he had a great time at the event. "This was a very cool way to create new memories in sobriety. I spent the day with family and friends and knew I was safe because everyone was sober. Thank you Lighthouse!"

Another member of the Lighthouse Alumni Program Mike V. shared that he is thankful for the support he is still receiving from the Lighthouse Treatment Center.

"I am so grateful that the Lighthouse continues to be a part of my life," Mike said. "They make it a priority to keep me connected. I get to try things in a safe environment surrounded by others with the same goals that I have. I feel supported and my family feels a part of my recovery."
