Fleet Cost & Care, a company of fleet management consultants based in Detroit, MI, wants to emphasize that they are a provider of crane rental management software. These are their NexGen desktop fleet management software and the Atom mobile fleet management app. These software were developed by those who have experience in owning a fleet of cranes and other heavy equipment to help fleet owners to operate their heavy equipment rental companies function more efficiently.

Jeff Curran, President of Fleet Cost & Care, says, “NexGen enables companies within the heavy equipment rental industry to improve internal operations and employee efficiency, streamline job scheduling, quoting, and billing, all while saving time, improving accuracy, increasing revenue, and maintaining safety and compliance. And Atom is a comprehensive mobile fleet management app that allows fleet owners to manage operations from a tablet or smartphone. Dispatchers, sales managers, operators, and service managers use Atom to: create quotes and work orders, assign work to mechanics, enter labor, to capture signatures on a job site, perform safety checklists, and check in on the status of the jobs for any given time period.”

NexGen is a desktop fleet management software that offers various features, such as: quoting, scheduling, safety, service, reporting, and integrations. The quoting feature allows the users to save time during the quoting process and get rid of the need for duplicative data entry. Its centralized system facilitates the way for employees to come up with a quote fast with accurate customer, equipment, job site, safety certifications, and personnel information.

The NexGen scheduling feature enhances accuracy and eliminates errors when scheduling jobs. Its safety feature ensures the safety of personnel through the monitoring, tracking, and maintaining of certifications. Its service feature allows the tracking of preventive maintenance and repairs and the automation of notifications of past due and coming due service. NexGen also has reporting features that allow the company to boost revenue by assessing equipment usage to measure ROI and make better business decisions. It also integrates seamlessly with typical GPS and accounting systems.

Meanwhile, Atom is a complete mobile fleet management app that enables fleet owners to manage their operations from a smartphone, tablet, and other mobile devices. Atom allows users to remotely track labor, maintenance, work orders, electronic documents, safety checklists, and inventory. It also allows the creation and modification of a quote or work order in just minutes. The Atom remote dispatch tool enables easy assignment and tracking of the status of work crews. Its safety feature provides electronic safety checklists that allow employees to view, complete and sign appropriate safety information in real-time. And finally, Atom allows e-signatures that allow the signing of documents electronically to ensure accuracy and authentication. These e-signatures can be used for contracts, payroll, invoices, work orders, and any other documents that need signatures.

Meanwhile, the company has plans for the future. Jeff Curran says, “Our company and product growth plans include upgrading our technology framework, improving the look and feel of our user interface, developing increasingly robust reporting capabilities, using customer feedback for product enhancements, and examining fleet management cloud capabilities.”

Established in 1993, Fleet Cost & Care was launched by the owners of the JJ Curran Crane Company when they decided to expand into fleet software technology. Jeff Curran’s goal in starting Fleet Cost & Care was to develop a centralized software for increasing revenue and reducing costs for fleet owners. After careful studies and working closely with a team of first-class developers, Fleet Cost & Care (FCC) came into existence. FCC launched its first fleet management system in 1996 with features that included scheduling, invoicing, and preventative maintenance. They continued with the development of the software and this resulted into the addition of more functions and reporting capability. In 2007, the second generation of FCC’s software was launched, which is called NexGen. And after the release of NexGen, the company went on to create a mobile application, which is called Atom.
