North Texas Plumbing, a commercial plumbing company based in Watauga, TX, is pleased to announced that they can provide grease trap plumbing services to restaurants and other food establishments in the Dallas Fort Worth metropolitan area and nearby areas. Commercial establishments that serve food, including hotels; pubs, bars and inns; restaurants; takeaways; bakeries; cafes; and schools and colleges, frequently have a grease trap or a grease interceptor installed in order to prevent the fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from clogging their pipes and in having a negative impact on the environment.

Marc Sims, owner of North Texas Plumbing, says, “We handle all types of commercial plumbing jobs including grease traps. Every restaurant owner knows grease traps are a necessity, but they are also a major headache when something goes wrong. If you are building your establishment it is important to get your grease trap installed the right way the first time so that you can get on with building your business instead of dealing with plumbing problems. That’s where we come in! Grease traps are one of our major specialties.”

The North Texas Plumbing grease trap plumber is capable of handling all three main types of grease traps that are available in the market. The three types of grease traps are the: passive hydromechanical or manual grease traps, automatic grease traps, and gravity grease traps. The most commonly used kind of grease trap is the passive type, especially when it comes to the smaller establishments. This is primarily because it is the most affordable and the simplest to use. These are usually installed under the sink although there are larger units for larger establishments to ensure they are capable of handling larger volumes of wastewater.

The automatic grease trap is similar to the passive type except that it provides a way to reheat the FOG, enabling these to be skimmed out at regular intervals. The oil that has been skimmed out is automatically placed in a collector bin that can easily be removed from the automatic grease trap unit to allow the oil to be recycled. The skimming is scheduled in such a way that operators will not be required to monitor the grease levels. Thus, the workers would be able to focus on other tasks. Thus, while these automatic grease removal units or AGRUs are more expensive compared to the passive types, they have lower operation costs and require less servicing.

And finally, the gravity grease traps are for large commercial establishments and are typically made up of big in-ground tanks that are made of fiberglass, steel, or concrete. They function in the same manner as passive grease traps, except that they have a much larger capacity and are therefore applicable for establishments with high flow wastewater systems. These gravity grease traps will require regular maintenance to pump out the FOG that have accumulated in the tank. The grease trap plumbers from North Texas Plumbing are ready to provide maintenance services for gravity grease traps to ensure minimal disruption of these commercial establishments.
