NYC real estate attorney Natalia Sishodia releases a new article (https://sishodia.com/6-school-districts-to-consider-when-buying-a-home-in-nyc/) discussing the districts a homebuyer should consider when buying a home in New York. The lawyer mentions that it is important to consider the neighborhood when buying a new home. Especially when an individual has a family, choosing a home near a school district may be very important.

“Of course, there’s no guarantee, as districts are highly competitive, but with closer proximity and enough prep work ahead of time, your chances will definitely increase. In New York, there are six districts to look at when picking out your dream home,” says the NYC real estate attorney.

The lawyer mentions District 1 first. The district is located on the Lower East Side with no zoned neighborhoods. This district boasts fabulous schools with alternative principles and experimental practices, and it’s located in a neighborhood that is filled with boutique shops, trendy restaurants, and new, luxury apartment buildings.

Attorney Natalia Sishodia also discusses District 2 which is the home to some of the finest schools and wealthier establishments. There is zoning in the neighborhood, and most families in this area are pleased with the abundance of new elementary schools that have opened. Midtown West is a great school for gifted students; however, you must live in this district to apply for admission.

In the article, the lawyer says that districts 3, 4, 5, and 6 are also great areas to look into when buying a new home. In District 3, a great G&T school program and magnet school recognition can be found at Anderson School. In District 4, the Manhattan East School for Arts and Academics can be found.

According to the real estate lawyer, “District 5 is situated in Central Harlem and some solid options for schools include the Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School, KIPP Infinity Charter School, Teachers College Community School, and the Columbia Secondary School. District 6 is a popular area for the Dominican crown. Some progressive schools include Muscota, Washington Heights Academy, and Castle Bridge, which Mott Hall provides learning for gifted students.”

Lastly, the lawyer also stresses the importance of having an experienced lawyer when negotiating the purchase or sale of real estate, or in any other real estate transaction. An experienced lawyer can help clients understand their rights and ensure they get the best deal possible.
