WhiteSands NFT Collaboration Provides Financial Assistance for Patient in Need of Addiction Treatment

Plant City, FL - A recent collaboration between WhiteSands Alcohol and Drug Rehab and the NFT project Bored Mummy Waking Up is helping people in need of addiction treatment receive care they would not otherwise be able to afford.

With the release of its most recent NFT, Bored Mummy Waking Up wanted to donate a portion of its proceeds to altruistic causes. They partnered with WhiteSands to create a cryptocurrency-backed financial assistance fund through the sale of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). NFTs are essentially unique digital art files that are stored on the Ethereum blockchain. NFTs can be sold, traded, or simply treasured as a piece of original art.

In addition to providing financial assistance for treatment, the partnership aims to amplify the conversation around mental health and substance use disorders to a wider audience. They hope to educate the public about effective treatment options and remove the stigma around reaching out for help by raising awareness.

So far the fund has been able to help seven people access treatment at WhiteSands. Aspects of their stories will be familiar to anyone who has struggled with substance abuse. Most recently, a father who feared losing his family due to his addiction was able to attend treatment thanks to the financial assistance fund.
