Lighthouse Treatment Center Alumni Volunteer to Provide Meals to Orange County Community Members in Need

Anaheim, California - Lighthouse Treatment Center, a drug and alcohol treatment facility in Anaheim, California gathered its alumni to take part in a volunteer program to provide meals to vulnerable populations in Orange County on November 19 and December 21, 2021.

The program called Operation Moving Forward Together is an initiative of Viet-C.A.R.E., an organization that aims to reduce mental health disparities and enhance quality mental health services in the community.

Sara Alba, Alumni Coordinator of the Lighthouse, shared that participating in this program is a great way for Lighthouse alumni to be involved in local community efforts in Orange County.

“We are thankful for the opportunity to participate in this program organized by Viet-C.A.R.E. We at the Lighthouse believe that volunteering in Operation Moving Forward Together has been an awesome way to enhance the lives of our alumni in addiction recovery and at the same, contribute positively to the lives of those in our community,” said Alba.

Matt G., a member of the Lighthouse Alumni Program, said that he was grateful that the Lighthouse has given him the chance to participate in this initiative.

“This was a really great experience! I spent the day doing something positive and I got the chance to get to know people that I would not have had the opportunity to spend time with. It was also a way for me to be more connected with my local community,” shared Matt.
