Sydney, NSW - Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club is proud to have been home to the NSW Open for the last three years, from 2017 – 2019. It has been wonderful to see many professional golfers take the opportunity to play this magnificent course. Whilst it is now time for Twin Creeks to bid farewell to this major event on the NSW golfing calendar, they always support the NSW Open.
The competition was first played at Manly Golf Club under a "Close" format in which only citizens of New South Wales could join. Charlie Gray, Tom Howard, and Sam Richardson ended in a 3-way tie in the inaugural ceremony, with Charlie Gray raising the title following a Thirty six-hole play-off. The competition finally became an Open competition in 1958, bringing the best of Australia's golfing elite featured by some of the most skilled players in the world.

In 2015, Golf NSW acknowledged Nagle's significant participation in the game by calling the NSW Open Championship trophy the 'Kel Nagle Cup' to recognise the tremendous Australian golfing icon. One of Australian golf's finest ambassadors, Nagle is best commemorated for his triumph in the 1960 British Open Championship at St Andrews Links (the home of golf) – where he defeated the great American, Arnold Palmer.
