Taos, N.M. — Shadow Mountain Recovery has announced the availability of their Taos Recovery Center that provides a unique detox and residential rehab experience in scenic Taos, New Mexico. With amazing views offered by the red hills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the center is located in an environment that promotes a feeling of peace and openness that serves to encourage their clients. The location also was chosen because of the tradition of coming to the Southwest for healing. The natural springs and holy sands in Chimayo are just some of the examples of the purported healing powers offered by the culturally rich nature and spirituality of the lands of the Southwest.

“Clients in our care will have the opportunity to participate in a unique alternative to a 12-step program that is built to enable long-lasting rehabilitation from substance addiction," a spokesperson for Taos Recovery Center said. "Our evidence-based treatment programs have an underlying emphasis on authentic, holistic approaches, focused on results that drive successful recoveries for you or your loved one.”

This addiction treatment center is located in a city that has become popular for its traditional adobe buildings like the Taos Pueblo, which is a multistory adobe complex that served as residences of Native Americans for centuries. The Taos Pueblo represents the togetherness and community of the Native culture in Taos, allowing clients to reflect on that while going through their journey to recovery and looking for their core personal identity.

The Taos Recovery Center is very much aware that everyone with an addiction has different reasons for misusing alcohol or drugs. Thus, each client needs a different treatment plan tailored to their unique needs. The center offers dual diagnosis treatment, which includes treating the underlying mental health issues of the person struggling with an addiction. Their focus on dual diagnosis has allowed their clients to finish the full program even if they had failed other programs before. Among the 267 clients they discharged during the period between Jan. 31, 2019, and Jan. 31, 2020, a total of 90% had completed their treatment.

The Taos Recovery Center ensures that master’s level clinicians are available to every individual staying at their inpatient facility. The programs offered at the center also include alcohol and drug detox, residential addiction treatment, outpatient addiction treatment, and daily groups and private therapy sessions held twice a week.

Founded in 2006, Shadow Mountain Recovery offers a continuum of care and programming for every level of addiction treatment and support. People who would like to know more about the addiction treatment programs provided by Shadow Mountain Recovery can visit their website or contact them via phone or email. They can be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
