The afternoon community gathering at Five Towns Community Center was held on Sunday, August 15, and brought together the families residing in Nassau County, on the South Shore of western Long Island, New York.

Earlier this year an overpass connecting Seagirt Boulevard and the Nassau Expressway in the Five Towns area, known as State Route 878, has been renamed Peter V. Sobol Memorial Bridge after the longtime civic leader.
