Los Angeles, California -

Los Angeles, CA – The dedicated staff at Muse Treatment Center recently helped a Los Angeles woman end a seven-year struggle with active drug addiction. The woman, who goes by the name Jamie, wrote in a passionate 5-star review on Google, “Muse Treatment is literally LIFE CHANGING!”.

Jamie’s time at Muse was the end of a seven-year battle with drug abuse, one she admitted she didn’t always fight very hard. She didn’t just have a drug problem, she wrote, but also had “a problem admitting that I needed help.”

She had little hope but somehow made the decision to try one more time, at Muse. It was the solution she needed.

“When I got to Muse, I felt defeated, I felt weak. But then, I met the staff and we came up with a treatment plan on not only how I can get sober BUT STAY SOBER. And now I’m sitting here with my completion coin and 44 days sober.”

Jamie underwent the full continuum of care at Muse, which takes a comprehensive approach to addiction recovery. Muse treats addictions to many substances, from alcohol to heroin and prescription drugs. Treatment is a highly personal experience that must be customized for each individual client; programs include medically supervised detox, residential or outpatient rehab, sober living homes and extensive follow-up and alumni programs to prevent relapse. Muse often approaches addiction as a symptom of an underlying emotional or psychological disorder rather than the client’s central problem.

One of the most critical elements of an effective treatment program is the emotional support offered by highly trained professional staff who understand addiction. Jamie credited Muse’s staff for playing an integral role in her recovery.

“The staff at Muse, they become your stepping stone at first, but really- they become your family . . . I cannot explain to you in enough words how wonderful the staff is. (They) are here to help you stay sober!”

Jamie cited several staff members who “fought for (her) recovery” and were always ready to give her the help she needed – while also holding her accountable. “Also, there’s the staff that you don’t get to see every day, but it’s because they’re working behind closed doors to make sure you are taken care of,” she said.

“I got told early on in my sobriety something I’ll never forget. (A staff member) once told me after I was asking if I HAD to do something, it forever changed my outlook on the program and life itself. ‘You don’t HAVE to; you GET to.’ And then that day (another staff member) said something to me as well. She said, “You know, my dad once told me something. That under your name, you have the year you were born and then the dash, and until you die, you have four question marks (????) for the year that you pass away. Well, right now you have to LIVE YOUR DASH.’”

“Those two quotes are something I remember when I look down at my coin. Now I challenge you to get yours. Call Muse. It will be the best thing you have ever done!”

With facilities throughout Los Angeles and Southern California, Muse Treatment offers a comprehensive recovery program for those who are ready to accept help. Treatment always begins with a complete medical and psychiatric assessment, in order to identify the client’s needs and design a custom program that will place them on the most effective path to long-term sobriety.
