Alexandria, Virginia – In a statement being distributed to its supporters, the Coalition for American Veterans reviews how Veterans have fared over the past 12 months and issues a warning about what may be in store for the future.

“The healthcare and economic implications of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdowns have had disproportionate impact – both medically and economically – on America’s veterans,” the statement says. “It remains to be seen if the Biden-Harris administration will get COVID-19 under control, and they must be held accountable.

The group’s statement notes that “riots, destruction, and acts of lawlessness broke out across the country” in 2020, with “racial animosities and political divisions” that negatively affected all Americans, including Veterans.

“Lawlessness is also seen with the border crisis, as Biden puts the interests of illegal immigrants ahead of the interests of America’s veterans,” the group notes in statement, “With the election of Joe Biden, this could mean a return to the Obama-Biden policies of neglect, disrespect, and mistreatment of our nation’s heroes. Again, we must hold the new Biden-Harris administration accountable.”

In the 2020 presidential election, CAV focused a great deal of attention on key battleground states, such as Ohio, where President Trump prevailed by 475,669 votes. Nationwide, exit polling showed that veterans favored Trump over Biden by a 54% to 44% margin. “If it were up to veterans,” a spokesman for the group said, “President Trump would be in office for another four years.”
