Toms River, New Jersey -- Today, Christine Matus, estate planning lawyer and founder of the Matus Law Group in New Jersey, announced a new upcoming online webinar focused on those who have minor children.

Parents who have minor children have unique concerns and responsibilities when they are developing a comprehensive estate plan. Estate planning lawyers realize that, although it is one of the most important things that parents can do for a family, it can be equally confusing. Many put it off for “someday.” The Matus Law Group understands this and is offering this opportunity for parents to get questions answered in a comfortable, no-obligation, no-stress format.

“Estate planning is not only planning for your assets. If you have kids under the age of 18, your estate plan will shape their future in the event that something happens to you,” explained Ms. Matus. “That’s why my team and I are excited to host this upcoming webinar. We will be discussing the basics of creating an effective estate plan and will have plenty of time afterward to answer any questions that participants have.”

The free webinar will be hosted by Kristine Carranceja-Gurski, Esq. of The Matus Law Group and will discuss things such as how to choose a legal guardian for minor children, how to make sure that children are financially supported when the parents are no longer there to support them, and how to create a trust to ensure that assets are transferred to the right people at the right time.

“Unfortunately, if you don’t have a legally valid estate plan in place, you’re leaving your children and your property in the hands of the state,” continued Ms. Matus. “Although the courts will try to do their best to act in everyone’s best interests, they don’t always get it right. This is why it is so critical to have a well-conceived plan in place to protect your children and your assets if something happens to you and your spouse.”

Many people put off these discussions, especially if they are relatively young with small children. Some are simply not comfortable with conversations about death or what may happen afterward. But when parents are actively able to make these decisions about protecting their children, who will care for them, and how they will be supported, it offers great peace of mind for the whole family. This webinar provides a convenient, low-key setting for parents to understand and discuss these issues and ask questions of an experienced estate planning lawyer from the comfort of their own home.

The live broadcast of the webinar will take place on May 27th at 4 PM (EST), but, a copy will be sent out for those who are unable to attend the live presentation. Those who would like to register for the free webinar can sign up at https://meeting.zoho.com/meeting/register?sessionId=1032732283. Spaces are limited.
