James McConnell, Jr., the founder of Marketplace Prep, led a discussion at the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas in Denton. Marketplace Prep is a 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) and prep center provider for Amazon, eCommerce, and marketplace sellers. The business offers its services to wholesale sellers, brand partners with established brands, private label or white label brands, and even those who manufacturer their own unique products. The facility is centralized in the US and is near a critical Amazon Fulfillment Center (FTW1).

For wholesale clients that buy their inventory from distributors, manufacturers, wholesalers, or brands, Marketplace Prep offers prep services such as getting products polybagged, labeled, and collecting aggregated orders from various suppliers. They also offer bundling and multipack services by helping merchants who need item items grouped together whether they are the same SKU, multi-SKU, or any other combination. The company also helps provide items boxes if they are heavy and can work with the client to create a specialty prep plan for each business’s individual requirements.

For private label brands, white label brands, or other similar businesses that have completely unique, manufactured products, Marketplace Prep can provide services such as case forwarding, bundling or part replacement, along with being a returns or removal order hub. This is also applicable for clients that import their products internationally or have a variety of manufacturers around the world producing their products.

Case forwarding services, also known as “Amazon Drip”, is the process by which Marketplace Prep will receive a master case of the client’s products and then ship out that exact same case without handling the units individually. Case forwarding is perfect for private label sellers who control their case pack sizes in the manufacturing process. Bundling or part replacement is the process of attaching a missing part like a bolt or bracket with each item. Marketplace Prep also offers a removal order hub service, a place that can accept, inspect, and, if applicable, dispose of returns. Marketplace Prep can offer the removal order hub service on a case-by-case basis for clients who need to aggregate their returns.
