The Burbank, California based Contractors State License Center (CSLC) would like to announce the availability of their contractor license classes in Los Angeles. The license training center helps candidates prepare for their contractors’ exam in California and brings over 50 years of experience to assist each candidate. The Contractors State License Center is the only contractor school in Los Angeles that offers free tutoring to its students, after which they can take the test to become fully licensed contractors.

“This test is difficult, and most people need help studying for the test in order to pass,” CSLC says. “CSLC’s proven program has been helping contractors in Los Angeles and throughout California for over 25 years. Over the years, we have helped many contractors all over the county get their California Contractors License. Our research shows that contractors have a higher passing rate when studying in a classroom. In order to help you pass this exam, we have implemented an effective and comprehensive California contractors school, specifically designed to help you pass the test the first time. We offer a detailed curriculum in a classroom setting that is designed for your success. Our program, that has been created over 20 years, has helped thousands of our students get their California contractors license. We offer Contractor Classes in the San Fernando Valley.”

The Los Angeles license center’s classroom curriculum includes six different courses that cover Law and Trade. The class is flexible, meaning students need only attend once a week in a two hour block. Upon completing six weeks of classes, students then take practice exams in order to prepare for the real thing. The Contractors State License Center understands that not everyone can attend a class to study for their California contractor license exam and so they have designed a home study program. The use of books, practice exams and study guides are highly effective, guaranteed to help anyone pass the contractors license exam. However, it is recommended that those who can attend class do so and take advantage of being in a classroom environment to ask questions and learn from other candidates.

The exam consists of two separate tests, and all candidates are required to pass both the standard Law and Business exam in addition to a second test which covers a specific area. The tests are multiple-choice — but still very challenging.

Passing the exam the first time is something that not everyone achieves, but it does make a world of difference. It allows one to advance their career as a contractor immediately instead of studying to retake the exam with no guarantee of passing the second time around. With CSLC, passing the first time is a very real possibility. It is, in fact, the goal of the lessons to ensure that every student passes the first time. A license is required for certain types of work, and having one opens up a whole new world for those looking to work as contractors.

“Anyone who does any building work for a fee over $500 dollars is required by law to be a licensed contractor,” says CSLC. “As a California contractors license school in Los Angeles, CSLC will prepare you to get licensed. Specifically, all businesses or individuals who construct or alter any building, highway, road, parking facility, railroad, excavation or other structure in Los Angeles must be licensed by the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) if the total cost (labor and materials) of one or more contracts on the project is $500 or more. Contractors can be licensed as general engineering contractors, general builders or in more specialized trades, such as framing, well drilling, landscaping or masonry. Contractors, including subcontractors, specialty contractors and persons engaged in the business of home improvement must be licensed before submitting bids. Licenses may be issued to individuals, partnerships, corporations or joint ventures.”
