Toms River, New Jersey -- Today, Christine Matus, Esq., New Jersey estate lawyer and founding attorney of The Matus Law Group with locations in Toms River, NJ, Red Bank, New Jersey, and New York City, announced an upcoming free webinar. This presentation will discuss funeral planning and answer relevant questions as they apply to prepaying and preplanning funeral services.
The webinar will take place virtually via the zoom platform on February 25, 2021, at 4:00 pm EST. Ms. Matus will be joined by Diana Daly, the Advance Planning Director at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, located in Toms River, NJ.
“We know that these conversations are not always easy and that many misconceptions are built around funeral planning,” said Ms. Matus. “This is why Diana and I decided to come together and prepare this webinar to help ‘bust the myths.’”
As an experienced estate lawyer with locations in both New Jersey and New York City, Ms. Matus gets asked many questions by her clients about funeral planning. She looks forward to answering questions and discussing how funeral planning can be integrated into estate plans to ensure that loved ones are not saddled with those additional responsibilities after the death of a family member.
Thinking of death and funeral preparation, especially in terms of costs, can be difficult to do. But Ms. Matus considers addressing the issues ahead of time as an integral part of estate planning and wants to cut through common misconceptions by answering questions such as:
What are the benefits of prepaying for funeral services
What happens if the funeral home goes out of business after funeral services are prepaid
Who has the right to control funeral services
What happens when some family members are estranged
What is the relationship between Power of Attorney, Executor, and the Funeral Agent regarding funeral services
What happens if you move out of state or pass away out of the country after prepaying for funeral services
“In answering these questions during the webinar, we hope that we can provide insight and understanding surrounding prepaid funeral planning. We believe that these prepaid services are not just something nice to have, but a must in a well-conceived estate plan.” Ms. Matus continued, “I speak from experience when I say that you do not need to add any legal and administrative headaches in a moment when your plate is more than full.”
As an experienced New Jersey estate lawyer, Christine Matus, Esq. believes that including a well-thought-out funeral planning component in an estate plan can speed the settlement of an estate, and make the process smoother at a difficult time. By creating an advanced funeral plan, an individual can alleviate the added financial obligations, stress, and pressure on their loved ones. It also ensures that the individual's last wishes will be followed and honored when the time comes.
Ms. Matus is looking forward to partnering with Ms. Daly to answer essential questions about funeral preplanning. Attendance is by reservation only. In addition to a live presentation, a recorded version will be available on social media shortly after the event.
For over two decades, Ms. Matus and her law firm, the Matus Law Group, have dedicated their practice to families and their legacies. In order to make a reservation, an individual can contact The Matus Law Group via their website or call (732) 281-0060.
