Dallas authorities have set a plan in motion to prioritize the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines to the most vulnerable neighborhoods first. The change was made after it was observed that a significant portion of the vaccine doses went to people in wealthy neighborhoods, as reported in an ABC8 article published on January 18, 2021. The Dallas local government has therefore modified its distribution plan to focus on the most vulnerable neighborhoods.

The health department of Dallas County has started prioritizing the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine to residents in mostly Latino and Black neighborhoods at Fair Park. This was done after early data revealed that many shots were being given to residents in northern communities. It was observed that more than 15 percent of the vaccine shots went to three high-income ZIP codes around University Park, Preston Hollow, and Far North Dallas.

Dallas County commissioners, in a divided vote, decided to vaccinate any person who complies with the states broader criteria, as long as they are registered to get a vaccine with the county and are residing in one of the 11 ZIP codes that they have identified. In the previous arrangement, the county had focused on giving the vaccine shots to residents who are 75 years old and above.

Local Dallas accident law firm Ward Maedgen has published a blog post about this change in plans for the distribution of vaccines in Dallas County to focus on the most vulnerable neighborhoods. This was done in response to the concerns raised when it was noticed that a large portion of the available vaccine doses went to the wealthy communities. The blog post praised the Dallas leadership for acting fast in coming up with a solution for the problem.

Daniel James, a spokesperson for the person accident law firm, says, “There are actually significant differences from one personal injury attorney to the next and many people are usually unaware of the difference. Before you decide on which firm you allow to represent you, give us a chance to answer your questions about what truly sets our firm apart.”

The practice areas of Ward Maedgen Accident Attorneys are with regards to car accidents, motorcycle accidents, truck accidents, construction accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability, bad faith insurance claims, and brain injury. The most common practice area is, of course, car accidents. They are capable of handling all kinds of car accident claims. These include: traffic collision – general not-at-fault cases; rear end collisions; side impact collisions; not at fault rollover accidents; distracted driving accidents; head-on collisions; motorcycle accidents; truck accidents; drunk driving accidents; and texting while driving accidents.

There are various kinds of injuries that a person may suffer from due to a serious motor vehicle accident. These include whiplash, traumatic brain injury, soft tissue injuries, back and spinal injuries, and chest trauma. The primary legal factor in determining whether a car accident is possible is negligence. While some states have a no-fault insurance, which means that no matter who is liable for the accident, a victim will simply file a claim against his or her insurance company, Texas is a “fault” state, which means that the victim has to show that the other driver was at fault for the injuries.

The firm advises accident victims to do some record keeping and take photos of the scene for use as evidence, ensure that police arrive at the scene and a police report is made, get medical attention, and consult with a qualified accident lawyer.
