Contractors State License Center is proud to help those that want to become general contractors in Los Angeles. This school that offers several different ways to take contractors license classes in Los Angeles, brings a combined 50-years of work-related experience to their curriculums. A fact that the school attributes to the high success rate their students have when it comes to passing the difficult California State Contractors Exam. Their courses are geared toward not only providing their students with an idea of how questions will be asked regarding their desired contractor specialty but also provide the necessary information to handle the in-depth law & trade section of the exam.

The school owner, Eric Jacobs, says, “We believe the contractors license classes that we offer in Los Angeles offer one huge advantage over other schools like us. It’s called ‘been there, done that’. There simply is no substitute for the over 50-years of general contractors’ experience that those who help design our curriculum have. When that’s combined with our 20+ years being involved in California state contractors exam participation, we feel it gives our students a leg up when they go to take that exam. The high rate of exam passers that we have taught tends to back this sentiment up.”

Jacobs continued by stating that the direct general contractors experience their instructors can include when designing their curriculums is not the only advantage that students get by taking their courses. The school also offers several different ways to attend their courses. This is important because then no one ever has to give up on their dreams of becoming a general contractor just because they have a busy life. He says their students have the option of attending classes in person at their Burbank facility or to take their California Contractors License Exam study course online. The online option has been particularly appealing to many during the ongoing pandemic said the company spokesperson. He mentioned that both of these options offer much flexibility to those that take their courses. The online method allows a student to have total control over their learning schedule while those taking courses in person are only required to attend classes one day a week for two hours over the 6-week duration of the course. No matter which way a student chooses to learn, they will still get the school’s guarantee that they will pass the California State Contractors Exam if they actively participate in the coursework and successfully complete the practice exams that they are encouraged to take.

The company owner stated that many of their students have come to them for assistance because they have heard what a challenge it can be to pass the California State Contractors Exam without knowing what’s involved with taking it. That’s why the study guides they have created and the teaching help they provide are great allies to have in preparation for the exam. The Contractors State License Center even offers free tutoring for those that are enrolled in their reputable exam courses. Jacobs mentioned the reason the California State Contractors Exam is so intimidating is because of how it's structured. It’s a two-part exam of which the first part is dedicated solely to law and business and how it relates to being a licensed contractor. He added that the second part of the exam centers around the specific trade or certification area one wishes to obtain their contractor's license in. In all, the test includes some 80 – 125 multiple-choice questions. A passing score is 73%. The company spokesperson says that while this may not seem like a hard score to achieve, he cautions that statistics show a significant number of exam participants have difficulty achieving the required score without some form of assistance.

Those who would like to learn how to pass California contractors exam can contact the Contractors State License Center by phone, email, or by filling out the form that’s found on the ‘contact us’ page on their website. If calling by phone, Jacobs informed it's best to call them Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm; Tuesday from 9 am to 8 pm, or Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.
