HIV has been in existence for decades now. However, there are still many people who do not understand it well. The company offers private and confidential HIV testing and also goes an extra mile to offer awareness about the infection.

According to the site, “HIV is short for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. This is a virus that affects the human body by attacking immune cells that help fight infections and diseases. Once the virus gets in the body, the body cannot get rid of it. The reason the body cannot eliminate the virus is because it attacks T-Cells or CD4+ cells. If not properly managed, the virus can kill the host cells and replicate over time. Without treatment, HIV leads to AIDS which stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. A person who tests positive for HIV does not necessarily have AIDS. It can take time for HIV to show any symptoms and in some cases; it can take over a decade.”

The company also added, “The best way to know your status is to get a HIV test. Though there is still no HIV cure, there is HIV treatment which help a positive person live a long healthy life. CDC reports show that there are over 1.2 million people living with HIV. There are over 250,000 people who are positive and are not aware they have the virus. No, these two are different. HIV refers to the virus while AIDS is the most advanced stage of the infection. The AIDS stage refers to when the immune system is damaged and does not have the ability to fight infections and diseases. Most people living with HIV use antiretroviral medications which suppress the infection.”
