Roofers in Brantford Look Back on Time in Industry

Brantford, Ontario-based Straight Arrow Roofing is looking back at their time in the field to celebrate two occasions in which the community showed their support and appreciation for their work. Both occasions have been commemorated with appreciation plaques, which the company proudly showcases in their office. This was also touched upon in a recent Instagram post on the company’s profile.

"Community is very important to us here at Straight Arrow Roofing. We may not always get recognition or accolades, but we don’t give back to the community for the clout. We do value whatever tokens of appreciation are given to us, however, as these are proudly displayed as an important part of our company's history," says Joel Guerra, owner of Straight Arrow Roofing. This marks how much the company values feedback from their community.

As described on the company's Instagram post, the Straight Arrow Roofing plaque of appreciation displayed in their office was given to them for sponsoring a local hockey team during the 2018-2019 season. Guerra explains, "We are always looking for ways to give back to the community, and on this occasion, supporting our young athletes just seemed like the right thing to do. We want to make this a yearly tradition, and while the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are keeping our fingers crossed for a great 2021 hockey season."

The team supported by the company were the Brantford 99ers, a local team that welcomes any young athletes interested in the sport. From teaching their students to skate to participating in AAA minor hockey, the local team has a spot for boys and girls from ages 4-19 years old, presenting them with a great opportunity to get involved in Canada's most popular sport.

This plaque is not the only one showcased by Straight Arrow Roofing. The oldest plaque displayed in their office (presented to Joel Guerra, the founder of the company) dates way back before the company's founding. Guerra says, "This plaque was issued to me for helping a family in need, after a tragic event a couple of years before Straight Arrow Roofing was founded, back when I was a subcontractor and still building towards a business. While I did not do it for any recognition, this has always been a great honour to me, and it is without a doubt proof that if you combine following the right principles, along with a strong commitment and dedication, success will follow suit."

The plaque given to Guerra reads, "On behalf of the city of Hamilton, we extend our appreciation to Joel Guerra for donating your time and efforts to assist those in your community. Thank you for your selflessness in helping those in need. Your actions are a testament to the value of community."

This event set the foundation of what would become Straight Arrow Roofing several years in the future. Over time, the company has made it a point to continue offering their aid and support the community as one of its core principles.
