A Local Shipping Store in Chattanooga Highlights Virtual Operation Santa

Chattanooga, TN – The Mail Box Store, a local shipping store in Chattanooga, is excited to highlight this year’s Operation Santa program, hosted by the United States Postal Service (USPS). For over 100 years, the program has been a tradition across the United States, but this year’s Operation Santa will be looking a little different as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) impacting communities across the country. For the first time, the Postal Service is moving the letter adoption process to completely a digital system.

Each year, the USPS hosts Operation Santa as a way to fill the needs and wishes of families in communities across the United States. Submitted letters are adopted by “Christmas Angels” who anonymously send some of the requested items to the children and families behind the letters. Typically, the program is held in person within local communities. However, this year, all letter adoptions will be done online from anywhere in the U.S.

Moving the program to a digital platform allows letter adopters to help kids from all over the country instead of only letters from their local community. All letters should be sent before December 15th to Santa Claus at 123 Elf Road, North Pole 88888. The letters to Santa will be available on USPSOperationSanta.com starting December 4th for interested Christmas Angels to begin adopting.
