Wayne, NJ -- During the COVID-19 pandemic, the country has seen medical and physical therapy facilities around the nation close or cancel appointments, citing an increased risk of infection. Many patients have been left without their physical therapy and non-emergency medical treatment they’ve come to count on. Keeping patients safe while providing necessary medical care is a challenge for many clinics.

Wayne Orthopedic Physical Therapy has taken the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously. Forecasting the pandemic’s severity in early January 2020, the organization’s staff took essential measures to ensure that physical therapy patients remain safe while in medical, sports injury, and rehabilitation treatment.

This preparation included the purchase of critical equipment, including N95 and KN95 masks, which filter out 95% of airborne particles down to .3 microns. They also installed three types of ultraviolet air sterilization equipment and hospital-grade, anti-microbial air filtration, all designed to kill viruses upon contact. All staff is antibody tested weekly with a rapid response test. Altogether, these precautionary measures created a Medical Safe Zone, a facility designed to treat patients in the safest manner possible.

“We are adhering to the standard glove and mask-wearing, extensive disinfecting, and social distancing, but we felt those measures alone weren’t enough to keep our clients safe. We felt the need to go beyond those measures, particularly given the airborne nature of the virus. This is why we have created the only Medical Safe Zone for Physical Therapy Care or Chiropractic care in the State of New Jersey,” says Dr. Gary Struble, President Emeritus.

In many parts of the country, patients have put non-emergency medical care on hold for the past few months, causing further injuries or suffering from being sedentary due to social distancing requirements. The physical therapy center in Wayne, NJ is prepared to deal with COVID risks to help patients receive the physical therapy they need and deserve.

With steadfast determination, the Wayne Orthopedic Physical Therapy is open with stringent health protocols in place. Overall, this practice institutes safety parameters with a dedicated staff, who go above and beyond any other healthcare facility’s safety protocols.

“When it comes to physical therapy, it is just that -- very physical. Much of our work is hands-on. So, knowing we are prepared for the pandemic, and keeping our patients and staff safe, has been of the utmost importance.” says Dr. Nick Mangone, Clinical Manager for Wayne Orthopedic Physical Therapy. When searching for a physical therapy center in New Jersey, Wayne Orthopedic Physical Therapy believes every patient should fully assess the facility’s safety parameters when determining a practice of your choice.

Wayne Orthopedic Physical Therapy is proud of the extra measures they have taken to ensure each patient’s health. Together with their affiliated practices, they identify as the only physical therapy center with a Medical Safety Zone. Their other facilities under the same umbrella include The New Jersey Center of Physical Therapy in Riverdale, Paramus Orthopedic Physical Therapy, and Montville Physical Therapy.
