ICL is different from Lasik in that it corrects the eye by placing a corrective lens in a specific chamber within the eye as opposed to reshaping the cornea the way LASIK does. Some of this tissue is removed using a laser to reshape the cornea. This reshaping then allows light to bend in such a way as to focus, in a more optimal place within the eye, producing better vision. With Visian ICL surgery, on the other hand, a lens containing collagen is placed in the eye to bend and focus light properly.
