Pickett, Ray & Silver, a Saint Peters, Missouri based engineering and surveying company, is proud to announce that they have been selected as one of three finalists among local businesses for the 2020 Small Business of the Year Award, presented by the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce. Since 1969, the company has been providing their services to both local and national private firms, international manufacturing firms and even many local government entities.
The Greater St. Charles Chamber of Commerce is the result of the merger of both the St. Peters and St. Charles Chambers of Commerce, and it aims to advocate for the business community by developing opportunities and partnerships that strengthen the economic prosperity and sustainability of the region. The Small Business of the Year Award requires that businesses meet several criteria, such as being a member in good standing with the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce, having less than 50 employees and having been in business since January 1 of 2018 at least.
Once nominated, each business is then sent an application that has to be completed. This application will be scored by a panel of judges that is composed of past award recipients. The application is quite extensive and requires the applicant to discuss how and why they started their business, describe how they have overcome difficult times, provide details on how they have grown and demonstrate how they contribute to their community. This year, the three finalists for the Small Business of the Year award are Good News Brewing Company; Pickett, Ray & Silver; and Renaissance Plastic Surgery & R Medical Spa.
The winner will be announced at the 2020 Greater St. Charles County Small Business of the Year and the City of St. Charles Employers of the Year Awards Luncheon. Due to the COVID-19 situation the actual date of the awards luncheon has not yet been set. Updates regarding the luncheon will be posted on the Chamber’s website.
