Premier Hemorrhoid Center, based in San Diego, California, is pleased to announce it is now offering new and innovative hemorrhoid treatments for all sufferers to consider in consultation with its doctors.

Hemorrhoids (also called piles) are extremely common and nearly all adults will suffer from them at some time in their life. There are many causes of hemorrhoids such as spending a long time on the toilet straining with a bowel movement, pregnancy, and even heavy weightlifting. Diet, obesity, and constipation can also play a part.

People do not always realize that they have them until they become swollen, inflamed, or painful. In simplest terms hemorrhoids are swollen veins or tissue in or around the anus and lower rectum. As they can become worse with time it is recommended that advice and treatment be sought straight away.

There are several types of hemorrhoids, internal, external, and thrombosed. Internal hemorrhoids can occur out of sight inside the rectum. These are very often quite mild and do not always cause discomfort although straining during a bowel movement can irritate or even damage them. Internal hemorrhoids are very common and spots of blood on toilet paper or in the bowl are not unusual. If an internal hemorrhoid protrudes it can start to itch and it is difficult to relieve the itching.

External hemorrhoids form under the skin around the anus. Usually blue in color, they stretch and form blood clots which when dissolved may leave skin tags. Many sufferers find that these hemorrhoids can suddenly become very painful when inflamed.

Thrombosed hemorrhoids are actually a type of external hemorrhoid. They may manifest as swollen lumps on the outside of the anus and are, at best, very tender. Again, they are filled with blood clots and many people find that not only are they painful, but sometimes they can be extremely painful.

There are, of course, many procedures that can be undertaken to treat hemorrhoids; some of which are surgical and some which are non-surgical. An examination by one of Premier Hemorrhoid Center's doctors will establish the best course of treatment.

One of the latest treatments now offered by Premier Hemorrhoid Center is THD (Transanal Hemorrhoid Dearterialization) Doppler Hemorrhoid System. Not only is this one of the latest procedures available it is also considered one of the absolute best. It is an advanced surgical technique and its main benefit is that anorectal anatomy is preserved without the removal of the hemorrhoids.

The Doppler signal makes it possible for a surgeon to precisely locate hemorrhoids and the arterial vessels that feed them and then ligate them. This has the effect of eliminating the hemorrhoids. Absorbable sutures are used which means that patients can get back to normal quickly and not have to worry about removal.

A spokesperson for Premier Hemorrhoid Center, said, “We are excited to be able to offer our patients this innovative hemorrhoid treatment. It is fast and less painful than traditional surgery and most patients just cannot believe the difference it makes to their wellbeing. In addition to the surgery though, we work with every patient and give advice on the best diet to follow and what tasks should be avoided so that they can avoid future occurrences.

Although this procedure may not be suitable for every patient, for those that it is suitable for it is conducted as an outpatient procedure and hospitalization is not required. The procedure is also typically less painful than other more traditional methods and recovery time for most is typically just a few days.

As one patient put it, “Walked in with tremendous PAIN! Walked out Happy feeling Great. I have had hemorrhoids before and know they know what to do to treat you. Hemorrhoids are embarrassing to talk about, but they understand and make you feel comfortable. I don't write many reviews but could not resist after how I feel now.”
