Indianapolis, Indiana -

Kennected, an online platform that teaches clients how to generate leads on LinkedIn, is investigating how businesses can stay afloat and even find success during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company is eager to share their knowledge with their peers, as they hope that the strategies they develop will help more business owners identify opportunities they might otherwise have missed.

Publishing their findings through an article shared recently on their website, Kennected states, “Coronavirus has completely changed the way that the world does business. At the beginning of 2020, it would have been a considerable faux pas to suggest that a business meeting should begin with a fist bump instead of a handshake, and now people are thinking that even touching knuckles would be a major violation of the ideals of social distancing; and we, for one, don’t disagree with them!” This justified perspective of the virus and its associated social distancing protocols notwithstanding, Kennected believes that this period of uncertainty actually holds a great many opportunities that businesses may capitalize on.

Business owners and their staff, for instance, must take stock of the resource all of them will now have in abundance: time. Given how many people are now home throughout the day, Kennected suggests that this free time can be used for personal betterment. Pursuing an education online is easier than ever today, and many subjects have a host of free (and well-crafted) materials available online that offer the student more flexibility and versatility in their fields once completed. Certain specialized subjects will require accreditation, but Kennected points out that even free educational materials can give people a great deal of knowledge they can store for future use. For instance, the company suggests that business owners can finally devote more personal attention to subjects that help them develop their brand and its marketing, particularly if they own a small enterprise.

Devin Johnson of Kennected says, “Once the pandemic is brought under control, the economy will pick up again and we will all start doing our best to rebuild. The very least you could do until then is take refresher courses to keep yourself busy and avoid losing the skills you already possess, but we strongly advise that you take every chance to widen your skill set as well. Business owners may learn how to manage their operations with greater efficiency, for instance. Similarly, their employees may find that they are able to take on new responsibilities—and correspondingly better benefits.” Interested parties are welcome to reach out to Kennected on Twitter in order to stay abreast of their latest comments on the subject.

Businesses, particularly their owners, should also begin developing content for their customers to read or view. Whether achieved via blog posts hosted on their website or video content posted to popular social media platforms, businesses should be cognizant of the fact that most if not all of their customers are currently stuck at home with nothing better to do than browse the internet. Some brands will have an easier time with this task than others, particularly if they have already built a following, but virtually every company should take advantage of the chance to put themselves out there and get noticed by more people. Additionally, just as it is important for people to maintain their skills and technical proficiency, even brands with large audiences must make the effort to retain their followers’ interest.

However, as Kennected’s article cautions, “be careful not to be tone-deaf. Early in the outbreak, a number of CEOs sent boilerplate messages that essentially amounted to proclamations that people should still buy from their brands because they were washing their hands. Those have been ridiculed online. Instead, focus on ways that your business can help people continue with life, or business, as usual.”

Similarly, developing content can work hand-hand-hand with another crucial goal: building a social media presence. While not many people will be aware of a business’ website, their presence on a familiar social media platform can make it easier for them to reach out to their customers. Sharing content through such spaces will also give their social media presence an aura of authenticity and value—factors that many users prefer to indulge in. Kennected’s full article explores this concept in more depth, and businesses may learn how to use LinkedIn to their advantage (alongside Kennected’s own services) in it as well.
