Leading Snake River sturgeon fishing guide, Reel Time Fishing, suggests that March is an excellent month to catch large fish in the rivers of the Pacific Northwest. That list includes both the Snake River which runs through parts of Idaho and Washington and the Columbia River which runs through parts of Washington and Oregon. The Pros at this personalized fishing guide service say anglers can expect to take large size Catfish, Sturgeon, and even trophy size Walleyes out of these two rivers during that month.

Owner/operator Toby Wyatt had this to say about March Snake and Columbia River fishing, “There will be a lot of avid fishermen heading to the rivers in the Pacific Northwest in March because of the reputation that these rivers have for producing some larger game fish in abundance. There is nothing quite like the thrill of getting a big fish on the line of a light river fishing rod and reel setup and taking on the challenge of trying to land that fish. The only problem is if someone is not familiar with the area they may not know where these fish are and what type of tackle and bait package is best to catch certain fish with. That’s where our professional fishing guide service comes into play. Our guides have over 60 years of combined fishing experience in the rivers of the Pacific Northwest. When someone hires us as their March fishing guide for the day, we will take them to the best areas where great fighting fish such as Sturgeon, Walleye, and big river Catfish can be taken.”

Snake River Sturgeon Fishing Guide

Wyatt says that the Columbia River is a massive body of water that starts up in Canada and flows down through Washington and Oregon until it meets the Pacific Ocean. He says this river is home to many different species of fish including three types of Salmon, Steelhead, Sturgeon, Walleye, and Bass. Reel Time Fishing boasts having six full-time guides that know this river well. He says their March trips usually focus on the Walleye in this river and their guides know how to stay on top of this aggressive eating and constantly moving large gamefish.

The owner/operator stated that their Snake River guided fishing trips launch from one of four possible areas – Heller Bar, Lyons Ferry, Clarkston, and Little Goose Dam. He says they primarily target Heller Bar for those looking to hook a massive Sturgeon and Little Goose Dam or Lyons Ferry are the best choices for Catfish. Wyatt added that their Snake River guided fishing trips also feature some of the best scenery any angler will ever experience while fishing.

Another river that many Pacific Northwest Anglers like to head to in March is the Clearwater River. This river features crystal clear water that comes down from the Selway-Bitterroot mountains. The Clearwater River is known by anglers the world over for the B-run Steelhead it produces that average 10-12 pounds in weight. The owner/operator credits that statistic as the reason why so many people choose them to be their Clearwater River Fishing Guides. Wyatt says that’s because it’s not uncommon for their groups to catch as many as 20 steelheads in a single day.

Satisfied customer Jay Tintinger had this to say about his Clearwater River fishing experience with Reel Time Fishing acting as his group’s guide, “We had a great time with Travis catching B-run Steelhead. Travis was professional yet one of the guys. He was always ready with another baited rod. 10 large over 10# Steelies before 10 AM, 16 total. one was only 3" off the state record. lunch was fabulous everything homemade. Highly Recommend!”

Wyatt went on to add that trips with their experienced fishing guide service can be booked online at www.reeltimefishing.com or by calling him directly at 208-790-2128. He says he is also more than happy to answer any questions that people have about fishing excursions over the phone or by email. The owner/operator stated that they are highly qualified as Dworshak Reservoir, Grande Ronde, and Hanford Reach Fishing Guides too.
