Next Step Recovery, based in Asheville, North Carolina, has announced that they have appointed Bryan as new Director of Business Development and he will start in his new role on February 1, 2020. Bryan himself is in recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction. During his tenure with DePaul University, he was involved in research regarding sober living environments and a number of extended care models. He had published a number of articles and archived literature reviews regarding sober living and extended care models. It was in 2001 that he was introduced to AA and that was when his recovery started. He was able to experience first-hand in-patient and extended care programs and what works and what doesn’t. He has undergone professional training in different models of intervention and the appropriate approach and he joined the industry in 2007.

Susan Stader, co-founder and Executive Director at Next Step Recovery, says, “Bryan understands addiction and recovery from the inside out, drawing on his own recovery and his experience helping others as a peer, a certified addictions specialist, and a referring professional working with programs across the United States. We are honored that Bryan has chosen to make Next Step Recovery and Asheville his new home. And we’re excited to have him share our program with those who could benefit from it most.”

Bryan Johnson Next Step Recovery

Bryan Johnson, CDAC, says, "I've been professionally trained in various models of intervention and appropriate approach methods. In my time of visiting over 200 treatment centers across the country, I became familiar with Next Step Recovery and found their model for Recovery to be the next step above all the rest. I knew right away that this was where I wanted to bring my experience and passion for the recovery community."

Bryan continues, "For the family and friends who are supporting this journey for their loved one... simply be there. Without judgments, criticism, or expectations. Be there for them with genuine love, empathy and support and you will be far more likely to be rewarded with a better version of them that you may have forgotten was even possible."

One of the primary functions of Bryan Johnson in his new role will be to improve the systems and protocols of Next Step Recovery for working with detox and in-patient treatment. He will help in making sure that hospitals, treatment centers, and others in the industry will have complete trust in the patients that they refer. He is expected to be a massive resource for Next Step Recovery with regards to operations and business building because of his experience across the “continuum of care” in addiction recovery.

Next Step Recovery offers one of the leading programs for addiction treatment in Asheville. Through sober living and intensive outpatient programs (IOP), they are able to motivate patients to undergo transformation and recovery. They utilize community, compassion, and structure to provide the continuum of care that is needed for a patient to undergo sustainable recovery. As a result, patients undergo lifelong changes to lead to healthier daily habits, relationships, and overall well-being.

The treatment programs at Next Step Recovery including sober living, IOP, relapse prevention, outdoor adventure, life skills classes, and addiction support. They offer transitional sober living for men, which helps men with the fight through community, self-love, and structure. A holistic approach to addiction is used, providing men with the skills required to attain long term addiction recovery.

Also offered are Intensive Outpatient Programs. These programs are essential for those who have already completed a residential program to ensure continued addiction therapy. In effect, patients are able to continue with their addiction treatment on a part-time basis. This is essential particularly because those who have just completed a residential program are back in their previous environment, which increases the risk of a relapse. Therefore, the IOP program offered by Next Step is designed to help patients improve their personal power and self-awareness.

Those who would like to learn more about each kind of addiction treatment program can check out the Next Step Recovery website or contact them on the telephone.
