Renowned Long Beach, California implant dentist, Dr. John H. Cho, recently returned from a dental mission in San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico. By all accounts, the mission was a huge success. It provided all different types of badly needed dental services free of charge to many in the area. The mission took place there in the second week of January 2020 and lasted for several days.
Dr. Cho had the following to say regarding the Mexico dental mission that he was a part of, “It was such a blessing to serve the good people in Mexico. There was a lot of tiresome work involved but at the same time, we had much fun doing it. We not only got to help some underprivileged people get some badly needed dental work done but we touched their lives with the word of God in the process too."
The doctor went on to add that he feels everyone that is blessed with good work should take part in a mission that relates to their job specialty. Dr. Cho also stated that by participating in the dental mission it gave him a deep sense of gratification and was his way of giving back for all the blessings he has received in his life. He said he looks forward to participating in many more of these types of dental missions in the future.
San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico is located on the west coast of the Baja Peninsula. It sits about 180 miles south of the California, USA border. It was chosen as the prime site for the dental mission because of the many extremely poor people in the area. It is home to thousands of underpaid workers from the local migrant farm community. Dr. Cho says that many of these people would probably never get the dental treatments they so badly needed if it were not for dental missions like the one he just took part in.

Dr. Cho’s services were a vital part of the medical mission because of his very diverse background in his chosen medical field. He is proficient at doing a large variety of general and cosmetic dental treatments. The doctor said he was also able to perform several successful dental procedures despite not having the sophisticated equipment that he normally uses back at his Long Beach medical practice.
One of the dental areas that Dr. Cho is most well-known for has to do with dental implants. When he is working out of his long beach practice, he is assisted by some of the most sophisticated dental implant equipment that is manufactured. This includes a CT scanner for more traditional implants and an iTero scanner for those that need more complicated Invisalign implant treatments.
