Before becoming a bail bondsman, a person must take a 20-hour bail bonds course before a licensing exam. They explained that many schools offer the course online or the prospective bail bondsmen can find a physical school to attend courses. The prospective bail bondsmen will learn about bail language, how to begin a bail company, fulfilling bail obligations, arrest and release procedures, and many other aspects of bail bonds.

The final step Alabama Bail Bonds shared with the community this month is to take the final exam. Known as the Alabama Insurance Producer exam, the bail bonds exam is fifty questions covering the entire educational course. Participants must score a 35 out of 50 to pass. If they pass, they can apply for a license. The license is good for two years and upon renewal, the bail bondsmen must take 24 credit hours of continuing education.
