Sydney NSW based Bedford College has launched a new website to give hopeful students a new avenue through which to submit their applications for the school’s child care courses. These courses are set to commence in February, April, July, October 2020 and beyond.
Greg Gillespie of Helium Digital, a spokesperson for the college, said, “Bedford College recently celebrated their 75th Anniversary. We have a proud history, but education is about providing skills for the future. We believe that we contribute to this with the range of courses we have on offer. This new website, which you can visit at https://bedford.edu.au, is an exciting new step in our journey as we move forward. Allowing people to see what we offer and sign up online is a symbol of this; our new website will be a major factor in recruiting students for future courses.”
For Gillespie, everything the college offers is about the future. He said, “It is fitting that the new metro link was recently completed, giving access to our Norwest Campus, with a station immediately opposite the college. This will open us up for people from all over Sydney, and we hope this will be reflected in more students coming to Bedford College.”
He went on to say that, “In Australia, it is now common for both parents to work, so the need for high quality child care is growing. We at Bedford College provide that in an upbeat environment, and our newly launched website is a sign that we embrace new technologies and are looking to the future. “
The website showcases multiple videos of their child care students in action as well as news updates on current events around both the Bedford College campuses. It is designed to put new students first. Its intuitive nature allows it to give applicants a smooth experience evaluating what is on offer so they may decide what is suitable for them and then choose the right course for them to enroll in.
Students who wish to investigate alternative methods of funding their course will be pleased to learn there is a clear section of the site designed to help them evaluate the financial options at their disposal. They may apply for cash advances, for example, under the Australian Government VET scheme.
Bedford College introduced child care courses in 2005 and, as an acknowledged leader of the field, they state that they believed should have a website which reflected their prestige in early childhood education and care training. As a result, the website showcases Bedford College’s range of nationally recognised qualifications, all of which meet the Australian Qualifications Network’s standards. Course lengths range from 20-52 weeks in 2020, and Bedford students undertake almost twice the practicum hours of students from other training organisations during these courses. This means that they have plenty of practical experience to back up the theoretical knowledge and skills that they gain at Bedford College.
Another section of the site features testimonials from previous students, highlighting the benefits they gained from attending a course at Bedford College. For example, one previous student, Tim Olazo (Early Childhood Education Graduate) was quoted saying, “Before I started at Bedford, I was unsure of my options but wanted to study a course which helped me pursue my primary teaching goal. My youth leader told me about Bedford, and it sounded like the perfect course for me because of the university pathways.”
Many of these testimonials highlight the fact that these courses can be used as a pathway to university study, with previous students commenting on how useful it was for their careers. The college believes the new website will make it quicker and easier for people who want to make a career in child care to see what is on offer—and to sign up in a more streamlined way.
Early indications are that the website is proving a big hit with people who are considering a career in child care. Students using the site have commented on how easy it is to use, that the courses are clearly set out, and that the forms are easy to fill if they require more information.
Bedford College is a market leader in the provision of child care courses in Sydney, and they now have a new and exciting website to reflect this fact. The college promises to get back to students by the next working day if they make enquiries using their online contact form.
