Keenhealth, a home health products company based in Denver, Colorado, has announced that they have restocked their K-EP-136 reusable silicone earplugs for noise reduction. These silicone earplugs are designed for use in loud and noisy environments such as festivals, concerts, or construction sites to prevent damage to the ears. They can also be used when sleeping to block disturbing sounds from surroundings, including the snoring of one’s partner, in order to have a good night’s sleep.

“We're so excited to be able to announce that the K-EP-136 reusable silicone earplugs are available once again. These have been unavailable for some time because of the large demand and we apologize to those who have been disappointed to find them unavailable. Fortunately, we have managed to bring them back to the market so that people can take advantage of their benefits. These can be used as sleeping earbuds to help you to get a good night’s sleep. Block the sound of your partner snoring and finally catch your sleep,” says Lily, a spokesperson for Keenhealth.

She continues, “These sound-blocking earplugs are made of high-quality material to make sure you can wear them comfortably and fitting properly. Take note that they are BPA free for your safety, hypoallergenic, made of silicone, waterproof, and reusable.”

She also wants to point out that when using earplugs for sleeping, people can substantially improve the quality of their sleep. They offer a way to block out sounds while they sleep, such as a snoring partner or noise from a nearby freeway. This is vital for health reasons because the quality of a person’s sleep matters just as much the amount of sleep. Loud sounds can wake up a person while in deep sleep, which is what is needed by the body to recover from the stress during the day. The problem is that once a person wakes up because of the disturbance, it would take some time before he or she can return to that particular phase of deep sleep.

According to a 2006 report from the Institute of Medicine Committee on Sleep Medicine and Research, having poor sleep over a long period of time can increase a person’s risk of stroke, high blood pressure, heart attack, diabetes, depression, and obesity. And in a 2012 study, it was observed that poor sleep can also lead to decreased immune function and increased inflammation.

It has also been found that soft silicone earplugs, like the K-EP-136, are comfortable to wear while sleeping. People just need to make sure to clean them regularly to avoid ear infection and not push it too far inside the ear because this can push the earwax inside the ear, which may result into a number of problems.

Meanwhile, the K-EP-136 reusable silicone earplugs are also useful in environments where there are loud sounds, such as construction sites, concerts, festivals, and more. Sounds that are too loud (85 dBA and above) can cause noise-induced hearing loss. The hearing loss may be temporary at first, but the problem is that the damage may be gradual so that a person will usually not notice it. Over time, the sounds start to become muffled or distorted and the person finds it hard to understand other people when they talk or may need to increase the volume of the television.

The hearing loss may be temporary at first, lasting for 16 to 48 hours. However, recent studies have shown that while the hearing loss may seem to have disappeared, some residual long-term damage may be left. Wearing earplugs can help in preventing this type of hearing loss.

A 2011 to 2012 CDC study involving hearing tests and interviews with individuals have revealed that at least 6 percent of Americans under the age of 70 might have hearing loss in one or both ears as a result of exposure to loud noise. As for teens, researchers estimate that 17 percent have noise-induced hearing loss in one or both ears.
