Wayne Cox, owner of Cox Roofing Systems (https://coxroofing.com/), an industrial and commercial roofing business in Northern Ontario, Canada, recalls how they met with Luc, the facility manager of Norcat in Sudbury during the Spring of 2017. The metal roof of Norcat’s metal building was suffering from leaks in various locations and heat was also escaping through the roof that was originally installed.
After Luc was able to peruse the list of past customers of Cox Roofing Systems, he decided to try Cox’s TTR® roofing system over one half of the building. Seeing that the building had become super insulated, leakproof and there was no longer any ice build up at the doorways during the winter where the Cox roofing was installed over half of the building, Luc called them in early March 2018 requesting for the price of the remaining half of the building.
Luc has observed that the difference between the two halves of the building was so great that waiting for a few more years was no longer acceptable as the ice damming, falling ice, leaks, and heat loss continue over the untouched half of the building.
Wayne Cox says, “I am happy to say that we are confident that the TTR® roofing system will perform well past its 30 year warranty continuing to insulate, waterproof and pay for itself through energy savings.”
The roofing used for the Norcat building is the patented TTR® system, which represents the combination of all their knowledge with the goal of providing a truly energy efficient roof. They make use of a high-R-value spray applied polyurethane insulation that serves as a lightweight and energy efficient insulation on top of the existing roof. Next, the fully adhered EPDM membrane offers a level of protection that surpasses that of traditional coatings and it doesn't require fasteners or primers. Those who would like to know their location can visit their Google Maps page at https://g.page/CoxRoofingSystems?share.
In addition to the TTR® system’s environmental benefits, more energy savings can be attained through the use of photovoltaic cells and roof top landscapes that can be installed over the system with complete warranty. The system can also be provided with a black membrane or white energy star rated membrane.
Cox Roofing Systems provides roof restoration services for industrial and commercial buildings. This is the process of upgrading the existing roof system rather than replacing it. The primary benefit is that it is a better and more cost effective alternative to roof replacement. These restoration services offer various benefits, such as a longer lasting roof, prevention of roof leaks, higher energy efficiency, and a sustainable and environmentally friendly roof.
They want to point out that roofing systems can actually last for 15 to 20 years. However, this lifespan may be reduced by various factors, such as UV degradation, precipitation-heavy climate, poorly ventilated areas, roof colour, and loss of reflective paint and coverings. Those who let Cox Roofing Systems restore their roof get the benefit of adding up to 25 more years to their roof’s average service life.
Customers have mostly positive things to say about Cox Roofing Systems. For instance, Al S. had this to say, “Cox Roofing Systems retrofitted our building with Polyurethane Roofing Foam at our location on Jane Street in North Bay several years ago. We were impressed with the level of service and workmanship that we have received from your company. After the roof was insulated and waterproofed we noticed a saving in the heating and air conditioning costs for the building. [...] I would recommend Cox Roofing Systems to solve any of your roofing needs.”
Cox Roofing Systems was originally Stan Cox Insulation Contractors, which started in 1976 as a urethane foam insulation company and was later incorporated in 1980. In 1990, the company became Cox Roofing Systems after developing their unique roof system, and they started serving the Toronto, Northern Ontario regions with industrial and commercial roofing. They have also completed roofing projects in other areas, such as the Arctic, Labrador and the Northwest Territories. They were family owned and operated until 2014 when Wayne Cox took sole ownership.
