Anaheim, California – For its role in taking part in Anaheim’s homelessness outreach programs, the City of Anaheim gave recognition to Anaheim Lighthouse, a residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment center which has been operating in the city for the past 20 years.
Mike Lyster, Chief Communications Officer for the City of Anaheim recognized the valuable contribution of Anaheim Lighthouse in their programs. “In Anaheim, we have long been a leader in addressing homelessness and have helped more than 2,000 people off the streets since 2014. Anaheim Lighthouse has been an incredible partner in those efforts and we value the time, dedication and resources they have contributed to our initiative,” Lyster said.
Anaheim Lighthouse provides a vital resource to the community for those suffering from addiction by providing first-rate addiction recovery services, which has served over 20,000 people since the facility has been established. As part of its advocacy, the center participates in community programs in various ways.
One of Anaheim Lighthouse’s main initiatives is to help homeless people suffering from addiction by bringing recovery meetings into various homeless shelters. According to Tamara Jimenez, Community Relations Officer of Anaheim Lighthouse, this kind of participation in homelessness outreach programs is the center’s way to give back to the community by lending its expertise on substance abuse recovery. "It is an honor to serve our community on a local, state, and national level," stated Jimenez.
Aside from the homelessness outreach programs, Anaheim Lighthouse is also involved in several community projects such as providing scholarships through Drug Free Anaheim, collaboration with recovery programs in Orange County, working with the Chamber of Commerce and elected officials to promote substance abuse awareness, and participation in community events including the Anaheim Parole Adult Program Resource fairs, Mental Health Resource fairs, Christmas Tree Lighting events, and more.
