Contractors State License Center, based in Burbank, California, has announced that they are a contractor license school in Los Angeles designed to help those who are required to take and pass a test administered by the California Contractor State License Board in order to get a contractor license. The California contractor license exam is challenging and most people will require some outside help or study material in order to pass it. That is why they provide a contractor school that can help prepare people who will be taking the exam.

Eric Jacobs from Contractors State License Center says, “Upon completion of California contractors school, you will need to pass a test administered by the Contractors State License Board in order to get a job. This test is difficult and most people need help studying for the test in order to pass. The CSLC proven program has been helping contractors in Los Angeles and throughout California for over 25 years. Over the years we have helped many contractors all over the county get their California Contractors License.”

The exam preparation for contractor license in California being offered by Contractors State License Center is an in-school program made up of six classes covering the Law and Trade. The course is structured in such a way that students will only need to come to class once a week for two hours. There are even evening and weekend classes. Because of the flexible scheduling and class format, students can come on different days from week to week. Students will just have to come to class for six weeks, after which they can undergo final preparation for the test through the school’s study materials and practice exams. It is also possible to repeat a class if students missed it the first time or they simply want to take it again.

A home study program is also available but unless the students live too far away, it is recommended that they enroll and attend the live classes to maximize their chances of passing the test for the first time. This is because experience has shown that it is much harder for most people to study effectively at home compared to learning in a classroom environment.

In the home study program, students can buy the books, study guides and practice exams to prepare for the test by studying the material at home. However, there are many distractions at home, such as phone calls, kids, spouse, TV, etc., which means the home is not conducive to learning and retaining the material. And there is nobody to ask questions or clarify what the student has just read.

The license preparation course from Contractors State License Center has been observed to be successful because it is focused entirely on the test and the information and techniques that are required help people pass the test the first time, with a money back guarantee.

The exam is made up of two separate tests. There is the standard Law and Business examination and then there is the second test that covers the specific trade or certification area that they are applying for, except for the C-61 Limited Specialty Classification for which no trade test is required.

The tests are multiple-choice and the law test is made up of 125 questions. The trade exams vary in length depending on the classification being applied for but on average there are 80 to 125 questions. To pass the law test, 73 percent of the questions must be answered correctly. For the trade exam, test takers will be informed at the test site about the exact percentage of correct answers required to pass the examination.

The Law and Business exam will be divided into 10 major sections. These are Project/Job Management, Licensing, Bookkeeping, Bid Procedures, Safety, Contracts, Liens and Dispute Resolution, Employee Issues, Insurance, and Special Circumstances. The trade exam will be about safety, codes and other questions specific to the trade.

Those who are interested in the live classes or the California contractors home study courses can check out their website, or contact them through the telephone or via email.
