DuoCircle Scholarship Winner Announced

San Diego, CA – DuoCircle is an integrated, cloud-based email security solutions company. DuoCircle has announced the winner of its 2019 scholarship program. The DuoCircle scholarship was available to any student currently studying or enrolled in high school or college anywhere in the world with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The scholarship, which is for $1,000, was awarded for the best essay or video on email privacy and security. Specific topics included the following: How can the underlying causes of phishing be addressed? What will change in email security in the next 10 years? How would you teach older folks or children to avoid phishing and protect their privacy?

The idea behind the DuoCircle scholarship program is to raise awareness about the threat of phishing, especially to more vulnerable populations like older folks and children. The winner of the first DuoCircle scholarship is a student at Brigham Young University, majoring in computer science. The winner created a YouTube video teaching older folks how to prevent being phished.

Brad Slavin, CEO of DuoCircle, sits on multiple scholarship committees including the David Rubenstein Memorial Scholarship. Mr. Slavin felt that, "The cost of education places a massive burden on our future generations. Anything we, as good corporate citizens can do to ease the long-term stress of a four year education, we should be doing. This is our part to help inspire students and help them with their tuition expenses."

Cybercriminals have no problem forging emails from reputable, well-known companies or even from executives within the corporations they seek to attack.
