New Hope, Minnesota based Blue Ox Heating & Air is pleased to invite their community to utilize the company’s ductless AC installation services in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.

With both temperatures and dew points on the rise, the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota are experiencing an uncomfortable summer. Dew points—the temperature to which air must be cooled to become saturated with water vapor—can be used as a general guide to levels of comfort, with most people finding that they are comfortable at dew points less than 60°. Above 65°, however, that they start feeling the air is “sticky.” Any higher, and the humidity starts bothering people who are not in a climate-controlled environment.

With dew points in the Twin Cities area consistently hovering above 65° this summer, air conditioning is quickly becoming a necessity. Homeowners, starting to feel the heat, are looking for cooling and comfort. While there are solutions, most of them are expensive. Traditional AC systems, for instance, come with the burden of an increased utility bill, which means that HVAC technicians need to provide economical solutions that increase the comfort of homeowners while keeping an eye on energy consumption, as well. Previous solutions for home cooling, such as central air conditioning, window air conditioning, portable air conditioning, and even homemade solutions that involve an icebox and a fan are no longer acceptable for today’s discerning consumer.

However, there is another solution that is growing in popularity across the Twin Cities and all of Minnesota: ductless air conditioning systems. Blue Ox Heating & Air believes that ductless systems are the HVAC solution of the future and have set out to be the best Twin Cities ductless AC contractors available.

Tom Gehle, General Manager of Blue Ox Heating & Air, says “We’re committed to ductless technology because it makes a difference to our customers’ home comfort and to their budget. Ductless systems provide year-round comfort because they both heat and cool. We’ve set out to be the top ductless contractor in the Twin Cities.”

Ductless systems rely on inverter-driven compressors, allowing for some of the industry’s highest energy efficient ratings, nearly 25% more efficient than traditional AC systems on average. They also boast the highest customer satisfaction rating of any product in the HVAC industry.

As the name implies, ductless AC does not require any ductwork to be installed, making it a natural solution for any older or historic home that does not have ductwork. A ductless mini-split can be installed just about anywhere, and in any home, with incredible ease. Given that many homes have hot spots, a room that gets too hot in the summer or a bedroom on an upper level that interferes with a good night’s sleep (because it is too uncomfortable) would benefit greatly from a ductless system such as a mini-split.

A ductless cooling system also avoids energy loss due to duct leakage. In traditional central AC systems, the conditioned air is forced through ductwork that can have up to 40% leakage, which means up to 40% of the cooling paid for is lost. That leakage can also lead to other issues, like moisture build-up that can cause structural damage as well as contribute to the growth of mold or mildew.

Blue Ox Heating & Air understands that not all customers are aware of the benefits of ductless AC systems or how they work. With that in mind, they have created a number of informational videos in association with the Ductless Directory to inform and educate their customers on every aspect of ductless AC systems.

“We invest in ongoing training, so you can count on our staff to be well informed and knowledgeable,” says Ben Melvin, Sales Manager at Blue Ox Heating & Air, elaborating on the company’s commitment to educating their customers. “We increased our public awareness by getting listed in the Ductless Directory. There is a certain amount of consumer education that we provide—it helps our customers make the right decision. They need to know their options and trust that we recommend the best solution for their home.”
