Surf Till 100 Announces Expedition To Peru To Be Held In May 2020

Surf Till 100, based in Princeville, Hawaii, has announced that their upcoming expedition to Peru with Champions Felipe Pomar, Tom Woods and Jeff Hakman, will be held on May 23 to 30, 2020. Only 16 people will be invited to join the Peru expedition to travel back into time to discover and experience the spirit and birth place of ancient surfing. The participants will be on privately guided tours, with surfing experts and professional guides, traveling into the depths of the sacred archaeological sites and ancient surfing history. The Peru expedition is known as “The Huanchaco Surf Riders of Peru 2020 Expedition: Voyage into the Ancient Origins of Surfing.” The base camp for the Peru expedition will be the historical city of Huanchaco, the center of Peru’s ancient surf culture.

Participants will retrace and rediscover the ancient history of the world’s first surf riders and learn their secrets while visiting their sacred sites and temples. They will learn the ancient rituals and beliefs of the Mochica and Chimu people, the ancient inhabitants of the Peruvian coast before the expansion of the Inca Empire. They will be able to visit the temples that are as ancient as the pyramids of Egypt. Huanchaco is South America’s first World Surfing Reserve.
