ChoreRelief, based in Chicago, Illinois, has announced that they have recently released a new mobile app, also known as ChoreRelief, with the purpose of helping homeowners and property managers hire handymen or home services contractors in Chicago and neighboring areas. The app can be used by landlords and property managers to choose service providers based on their preferences and requirements and reach out to the handyman companies for pricing. More information about this can be gleaned at https://www.reuters.com/brandfeatures/venture-capital/article?id=124857.

Tarik Khribech, founder of ChoreRelief, says, “We wanted to give Chicagoland property managers, property owners, and landlords a better way to find and communicate with professional contractors. What's unique about ChoreRelief is you can name your own price and professionals can now bid on your job or accept it as is. Work can begin in as little as 1 hour. Payments are handled via the app, after the job is completed.”

Those who have already tried the app have mostly positive things to say about it. For example, Daniel, who manages a 10-unit apartment complex in Chicago, says, “It saves me tons of time. I don’t have to spend time looking for trustable contractors anymore. When I need something done, I’m spending a fraction of the time that I used to. Countless phone calls and babysitting unreliable and sometimes overpriced contractors are a thing of the past.”

The procedure for using the mobile app is composed of five steps. For the first step, the property manager or landlord enters photos and details regarding the job into the app. The next step is for the property manager or landlord to suggest a budget for that particular job.

In the third step, the job is then sent out to dozens of qualified, local and vetted contractors, who will then place bids on the job or accept the proposal as-is, immediately. The fourth step is the review of the contractors who have submitted their proposals. The job can then be awarded with a few clicks in the app, and work can start in as short as one hour.

In the final step, the property manager or landlord can review the photos of the completed project and then send the final invoice. Payment can be made securely and easily through the app.

Meanwhile, ChoreRelief also helps property managers and landlords by posting helpful content on their site. For example, they have recently posted the article titled, “Is Wallpaper Good For Bathrooms?,” which shows how wallpaper can be used in the bathroom. The article points out that while wallpaper appears to be an easy solution, it has to be installed properly in the proper conditions.

The article also points out that modern wallpaper utilizes tougher materials that can be wiped, cleaned or scrubbed, so there would be no problem about the wallpaper peeling due to cleaning. A vinyl-coated wallpaper is one such wallpaper that can be used in the bathroom. Furthermore, these are usually peelable wallpapers, which means it is easy to reposition the papers. However, they are not as sticky as permanent wallpaper and will not stick to matte, rough or flat surfaces. Thus, it is advisable to check whether the bathroom walls are suitable for peelable wallpaper.

However, it may be that the landlord or property manager will find out that wallpaper is not appropriate for the bathroom. In such a case, there are a number of alternatives. These include paint, tiles, beadboard, and tileboard. Paint with mold and mildew inhibiting additives are often recommended for the bathroom. And with tiles, it is possible to have a wallpaper look that is totally waterproof.

ChoreRelief was established by Tarik Khribech, who is currently its CEO and CTO. The company offers a cutting edge and innovative app to take the stress out of managing and maintaining properties. It is beneficial for property owners and managers because of its convenience of being able to access handymen on the smartphone.
