Many wonder what really happens behind the scenes when someone takes their turbine engine in for service.

Many business, agricultural, and industrial aircraft operators make regular trips to their service provider for scheduled and unscheduled service, but few have seen what actually occurs in the shop, and why it is important to the safety and reliability of their aircraft.

Turbines Inc has created a YouTube channel that includes inspections procedures and other procedures performed during overhaul/repair.

Turbines Inc YouTube Channel

From their channel description: "Our channel is for people who operate, fly, and love PT6 engines. We post videos about the maintenance process, about things that can go right (or wrong) with your engine, and occasional cartoons about the industry and the people in it. We welcome questions, comments, likes and subscribers."

The videos are not slick or highly produced, they authentically show Turbines craftsmen going about their usual tasks and taking a moment to explain what they’re doing.

People who love engines, and who watch “How It’s Made” videos will enjoy these. Anyone who works with these engines in any capacity will find them educational and enlightening.

About Turbines Inc

Turbines Inc. was started in 1981 by Jim Mills in Terre Haute, IN. He saw a need in the agriculture aviation world for a good turbine shop. The business was based on knowledgeable people, fast turn times, and fair prices.

Turbines Inc. has grown over the years, but its values remain the same. Most of the employees are US military veterans, many have been with the company for 25+ years. Turbines Inc. has developed many STC’s including Turbine conversions for the Ag-Cat, Brave and Dromader. In addition, they have developed several STCs and DER repairs.

Their business includes all operators of PT6A engines: agricultural, corporate and charter. Turbines Inc. is one of the few shops that has combined 300+ years of expertise with the PT6A-20 engine. The company performs PT6a engine repair and overhaul, hot section inspections, prop strikes, power section repair, unscheduled inspections, agricultural plane repair, PT6a-28 to PT6a-34 conversion and other conversions. Furthermore, Turbines Inc. is an FAA approved Part 145 overhaul/repair facility located at the Terre Haute Regional Airport.

Turbines Inc. is privately owned, which eliminates bureaucracy and overhead. They can be reached at 812.877.2587 or on the web at https://TurbinesInc.com.
