Meet Positives, an online platform where people living with incurable STDs have a platform to mingle, is now offering at-home STD test kits. The site has been in the forefront of STD education and has added this service to ensure that people who would be embarrassed by visiting a test center know their status.
According to CDC, there are millions of new STD infection cases every year. There are also reports that a huge number of people who are infected do not know that they are living with a virus.
“We have been educating people on various STDs, their treatment options and any news revolving around them. It is time to take the next step which ensures that people who would like to know their status have a private way of doing it. One of the reasons why people do not want to get tested is the embarrassment involved in walking into a doctor’s office or a test center for an STD test,” said Meet Positives founder, Jack Lombardi.
During the announcement, the site’s founder announce that they will enable a service that allows people to order different test kits that test for different sexually transmitted diseases. These test kits are sample collection kits that will require to be sent to a lab for testing. This means that anyone who orders the kits will remain anonymous and will not have to face a medical practitioner on a one-on-one basis.
