The Burbank, California based Contractors State License Center is now providing exam preparation for contractor test in Los Angeles. The local company is committed to helping members of their community pass this exam required to obtain a contractor license in the state of California.

California law states that a general building contractor’s license is required to work on any projects that exceed a certain capital threshold. However, obtaining this license is easier said than done, as one must meet certain requirements in order to be eligible to obtain one. First of all, in order to qualify for a license, one is required to take and pass a series of tests administered by the Contractor State License Board in California.

This exam consists of two separate tests, designed to evaluate an individual's competence and knowledge in different aspects of the challenges a contractor handles everyday. However, only qualifying individuals are eligible to take these tests, as the law states that applicants are required to have at least four years of experience as a journeyman, foreman, supervisor or contractor before they are eligible to take the exam. In addition to this, all applicants must have a working capital of at least $2,500, and they must also file a bond with the Registrar in the amount of $10,000.

Once it has been determined that an individual qualifies to take these tests, they must pass the standard Law and Business examination. Only when they have passed this first test will they will be able to apply for the second part of the exam, which will cover the specific trade or certification area for which they are applying.

These tests are multiple-choice, consisting of 120 questions on average for the law test and 80 to 125 for the trade test. In order to pass these tests, the classes provided by the Contractors State License Center will cover some of the most commonly asked questions as well as go over the subjects they will need to be competent in to answer any unforeseen questions. The law test requires a percentage of at least 73% correct answers for an individual to pass, while the percentage necessary to pass the trade test changes continuously.

The Center notes that the California contractor license exam is challenging for all those who sit for it, and most people need some outside assistance or study material in order to pass. The Classes for Contractors License in Los Angeles provided by the Contractors State License Center are one of the best ways to ensure one's success in this difficult process. They affirm that they are confident in their ability to help students make it through the examination, as they have over 20 years of experience helping members of the LA community get their license to work in the California state.

Eric Jacobs, a representative for the Center, says, "While passing these tests without any kind of guidance is possible, chances are that it will take two or more attempts to do so. We have helped thousands of people through this process, and we have found that contractors have a higher passing rate when studying in a classroom. Over the years, we have developed and implemented an effective and comprehensive teaching system, specifically designed to help you pass the test the first time."

Furthermore, the Contractors State License Center has developed their classes to fit their students' schedule, providing flexible classes that students only have to take once per week. For those that do not have the ability to attend classes, the company has also designed a contractors home study program that allows their students to review the classes' content and study in the convenience of their own homes.

The students will be provided books, practice exams, and study guides that will help them adequately prepare for each of the tests. Once the six weeks of classes have been completed, either remotely or in person, the students will begin to prepare for the contractor test by taking practice exams.
