On May 14, Nova Graphene CEO Paul Beasant and his Team will be meeting with a group of distinguished international journalists.

Mr. Beasant will be meeting 10 journalists from around the world who will be at Nova Graphene’s Canadian corporate office at The Centre for Ocean Ventures & Entrepreneurship (COVE) - a collaborative facility for applied innovation in the ocean sector located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Mr. Beasant will take part in this international media tour with a focus on ocean tech, hosted by Global Affairs Canada. The tour will feature journalists from Brazil, Italy, Turkey, Japan, South Africa, India, and the USA (including Greg Leatherman, Managing Editor at Ocean News & Technology).

Mr. Beasant feels that the Nova Graphene story is one that the journalists will embrace: “Nova Graphene will help propel the ocean economy by providing high-quality marine infrastructure and advanced materials with our CarbonEra™ Graphene products. Through the outstanding laboratory results that we are achieving, as well as through partnerships with renowned research institutions like Dalhousie, UNB, and UOIT, we know CarbonEra™ Graphene products will play a big part in the evolution of many aspects of the Commercial and Defense Marine sectors.”

From its COVE headquarters, Nova Graphene continues product development, including formulations for resins, coatings, ballistic armor, expansion foams, lubricants, and additive manufacturing applications.

Nova Graphene’s vision is to also introduce its CarbonEra™ formulations into almost every aspect of the Marine Industry.

This includes: highly advanced waterproof cements; antifouling coatings that don’t require sacrificial metals or biocides;coatings that shed Ice in frozen conditions; lighter and stronger materials for marine construction; and state of the art ballistic armor, light enough that it floats.

Located in what was once the primary Canadian Coast Guard facility on Halifax Harbor, the COVE hub is home to local & global ocean technology businesses, post-secondary institutions, researchers, and marine-based and service businesses that support the ocean sector.

The COVE site features extensive marine facilities with two large, deep-water piers, office space, an incubator and space for shops and labs. Discussing the history of the facility makes Mr. Beasant reminisce, “Years ago, I used to Captain the Search & Rescue vessel out of this same facility – it is wonderful to see it repurposed and to be back working from here again.”
