Florida shooting victim’s mother hires law firm to represent her in wrongful death case.

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Jana Thompson, the mother of shooting victim Anthony Williams, has retained the Florida-based law firm Steinger, Iscoe & Greene to explore her legal options against two men allegedly responsible for her son’s murder.

“This horrific tragedy has shaken our client to the core,” says Michael Steinger, partner at Steinger, Iscoe & Greene. “After spending time learning details about this case, it is clear our client and her family were nothing but loving and supportive to YRN Melly. We plan to seek justice on this matter to the fullest extent of the law.”

In the early hours of October 26, 2018, Anthony Williams, 21, and Christopher Thomas Jr., 19, were shot. The two young men were rushed to Memorial Hospital Miramar, where they were pronounced dead.

Police arrested 19-year-old rapper YNW Melly (Jamell Demons) and 20-year-old rapper YNW Bortlen (Cortlen Henry) in connection with the double murder. Both have been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, and Demons is believed to have been the one who pulled the trigger.

Williams and Thomas were a part of the same rap group as Demons and Henry, and they were described as close friends of the alleged assailants. Demons has the name “Jana” tattooed on his neck, which is reported to be a tribute to Williams’ mother Jana Thompson.

Steinger, Iscoe & Green will guide Thompson and her family in the best legal options available to them to help bring justice for Anthony Williams.
