Local Rehab Offers Free Holiday Boat Cruise to Alumni & Guests

Newport Beach, CA - The Lighthouse Treatment Center, a residential drug and alcohol rehab in Orange County (LighthouseTreatment.com), is offering their alumni members a free holiday boat cruise in the 110th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade.

The holiday boat cruise which takes place on December 21, 2018 is open to all alumni of the center and their guests. The cruise will last for 75 minutes and attendees are encouraged to participate in fun onboard activities while enjoying a tour of Newport harbor.

This activity is a part of the Lighthouse Treatment Center’s Fun in Sobriety Program which happens twice a month. The center covers the costs of food and admission during these outside events.

“It’s important that our clients experience fun and fellowship in sobriety. Most alcoholics and addicts isolate and disconnect from society, which is why social integration is one of the main recovery tools we teach at the Lighthouse” says Jocel Barrios, the center’s alumni coordinator.

The annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade is chosen for the Fun in Sobriety Program because it is one of the premiere events of the holiday season in Southern California. The parade, which is hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, will feature more than 200 watercrafts and is hailed as “one of the top ten holiday happenings in the nation” by The New York Times.

Fun in Sobriety events are part of the center’s extensive aftercare alumni program designed to encourage participation and long-term sobriety. The program also includes dinner meetings three times a week.
