Supply Chain Firms Need to Appreciate Benefits of Digitization: Augusto Beato

Supply chain companies should keep pace with new advancements in technology to counter rising costs and satisfy customer expectations, according to Augusto Beato of Portland SEO.

Beato was reacting to a study from French technology services major Capgemini that while many organizations across the world consider supply chain digitization to be one of their top three corporate priorities, most are still struggling to get projects beyond the testing stage.

The researchers surveyed supply chain executives from 1001 organizations between April and May 2018, with 80 percent of respondents reporting over US$1 billion in revenue in 2017. They also interviewed senior supply chain executives.

"While data and analytics have paved the way for smarter, faster and more robust decisions, the transport industry doesn't seem to be focused for digital transformation," said Beato, who is also the CEO of Portland SEO.
