The company is offering this service to clients anywhere in the world, offering to travel to the client's location with no cost to the client. American Quality Management aims to extend their consultation offerings to new clients around the world with this announcement.

The ISO standards that the company offers consultations for are two of the catalog of standards established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The ISO is an international non-governmental organization, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, which is comprised of representatives from over 160 countries. The standards are developed and implemented around the world to ensure the quality, reliability, and safety of products and services. The standards protect consumers while outlining standardized techniques for companies reduce production and product flaws.

Since its inception in 1987, ISO 9001 has outlined standards for quality management, providing a framework for organizations to meet the needs of their stakeholders while complying with the legal requirements of the product or service they create. ISO 9001:2015 is the most recent of the ISO 9001 quality management standards. Prior editions were created in 1987, 1994, 2000, and 2008. ISO 9001:2015 retains the scope of prior editions, but was modernized with a change to some standards, which allowed for easier integration with other international and nationally recognized standards around the world.

Meanwhile, ISO 14000 is a set of standards pertaining to environmental management. These standards provide a framework for organizations to minimize the negative environmental damage resulting from their business operations and for increasing compliance with applicable environmental laws. They also provide a forum for continuous improvement of damage reduction and legal compliance. ISO 14001 outlines specific guidelines for developing effective management of environmental services. It provides a framework for organizations to create effective environmental management standards and is applicable in any organization interested in minimizing their environmental impact, whether to comply with legal requirements or due to an organizational sense of responsibility.

Both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 utilize the same connection to general management structure, which is termed High Level Structure. This makes each ISO fit together for a streamlined implementation and ease in auditing. ISO 9001:2015 relates to the improvement of the quality of a product or service, while ISO 14001 relates to improving of the environmental impact. It could be said that ISO 9001:2015 is more globally applied within an organization, reaching all interactions and processes from management to final product. ISO 14001 is specialized, pertaining only to management of the environmental effects of the processes managed under ISO 9001:2015.

Consulting services for each ISO are available separately. However, many consultants specializing in both recommend organizations receive consultation on both. Implementing each ISO standard is an opportunity for an organization to ensure adherence to international standards regarding both products and also their effect on the environment.

Implementation of each ISO has become more popular with the increase in competition, product safety requirements, and environmental impact reduction. Organizations utilizing the ISOs report a host of benefits including improved image, systemic compliance with legal requirements, cost improvements, less employee turnover, and improved speed and success in implementing new processes. Solidifying processes under an established framework provides employees and management the ability to compare and contrast the effects of new processes and create a standardized operations which improve training and staff development. Identifying and utilizing a set framework, regardless of the industry, gives an organization a foundation from which to measure quality, process improvement, and errors, making identification and correction an easier task.

Certification in each ISO is only available through third party consultants. These consultants are able to audit and certify organizations for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001. They also offer assistance to companies looking to implement or improve quality management in their organization. As part of the certification process, organizations are required to identify risks and benefits in their processes and also outline how those will be addressed. Organizations report it is helpful to have a record of these items and the plan to address them as it ensures ongoing improvement and consistency.
