The third element of effective YouTube marketing is to optimize the channel page itself. Here, the online marketer ensures that it is easy to use by visitors and easy to find by search engines. A properly optimized channel attracts a great number of subscribers. Tips provided by Mike Marko include having a high quality profile picture and the addition of channel art as well as a descriptive 'About' page that shows the business' purpose, brand, and goal. He continues: "Also, you can create an interesting channel trailer. It's basically a video which automatically plays when someone's on your channel. Use it to tell your viewers something about your channel."

A fourth element of the strategy, and one that is often overlooked, is to have an appropriate CTA (Call to Action) included. In the blog post, Marko notes that many businesses forget to make it obvious what they want their viewers to do. There are numerous ways to add effective CTAs to YouTube videos and he believes they should all be considered.

The fifth tip is to ensure that the YouTube channel is properly promoted. Hence, it should be included on all social media pages that the business owns, as well as in their email signature. He suggests that a blog post be written about the launch of the YouTube channel and that this blog post is to be shared widely.
