Today Philip Jepsen, CEO of ManageByStats, reported that Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) has been added for MBS users. ManageByStats is a suite of software tools for Amazon sellers. Two-Factor Authentication, or 2FA, lets users apply a second layer of verification to their login, requiring a second, secure confirmation which must be provided by the authorized user. 2FA is now in use on many major platforms, and greatly reduces incidents of unauthorized access.
“Users can now secure their ManageByStats in the same way they secure their GMail, Amazon and other services,” says Mister Jepsen. “2FA is becoming more common in the software industry, as users increasingly store more of their sensitive data online. MBS has now joined that revolution.”
Users can choose to enable 2FA in their MBS. The additional security layer is handled with an initial confirmation, after which it remains in effect for that user until removed by the same user. All functions for remembering the login and/or deactivating 2FA for the browser have a timeout of 1 month. Meaning 2FA will be deactivated after 1 month of no activity from the user. If the user is active and visits MBS regularly, it will always be 1 month from last activity and would not, in theory, expire. Geographic location is also taken into consideration, and if the user leaves the country where 2FA was set up they will be challenged to set up 2FA for the new country. This is yet an additional layer of security.
“We’ve taken as many factors into consideration as possible,” says Mister Jepsen. “Our goal is to give our users the option, and the convenience, to make MBS as secure as possible.”
