May 16, 2018, Arlington, Virginia – The America Police Officers Alliance board and staff attended National Police Week in Washington D.C. Events included the Police Unity Tour, 30th annual Candlelight Vigil, 23rd annual LawRide and Wreath Laying Ceremony.

A survey was conducted by American Police Officers Alliance (APOA) among the crowds who attended Tent City. It consisted of questions regarding whether officers were receiving adequate training and if elected officials are supporting law enforcement. After initial analysis of data, APOA found that 81.9% believed current elected officials are not supporting police officers.

The goal for attending National Police Week was to not only raise awareness of the organization’s value and mission, but also learn from the attendees of their views on elected officials and police officers.

“We are really happy with how many surveys were completed,” said Daniel D. Stuebs, interim political director. “The attendees were really receptive to us, so it was easy to obtain the data that was needed.”

Other events consisted of the Honor Guard and Pipe Band competition, and APOA witnessed many families having celebrations of life at the National Law Enforcement Memorial.

Supporters of APOA are made up of police, citizens, organizations and public supporters working together to ensure the nation’s finest and citizens have a unified voice in politics. The American Police Officers Alliance is a national political organization organized under Section 527 of the IRS Tax Code.
